How fun is this?!

The book has now been available in both Paperback and Kindle for a few days and I can tell you, KDP reports are addicting.   Amazon’s kindle publishing page lets an author see how many books have been sold in the various formats, what marketplaces have had what sales, and even how many pages have been read through the Kindle Unlimited (KU) or Kindle Lending Library(KLL).

First, what a surprise for me was when I saw one of my ebooks sold through Amazon.de.   Who in Germany is reading me?   To whomever bought it: Ich hoffe dir gefällt mein Buch!

The second thing that really was fun was when I first saw that someone had started reading the book through KU or KLL. The first day, I watched as slowly the bar went up to 23 pages and then stopped.  So of course I wonder, why did they stop?  Did they just not like it?   The next morning I see another 6 pages read and felt a little better.   Perhaps they are just busy and only got to read a bit of it.  Then later that day I see it jumped to 236 pages.  Now this could be from one person or six, but given as my books are not yet widely known, I’m betting on one.  What a warm feeling it is to know that someone must have sat down and powered through a chunk of the book.  If they didn’t like it, surely they wouldn’t have gotten so far.

I still don’t know what people really think about the book, but the experience itself is certainly turning out to be very rewarding!
